THIS I BELIEVE - NON

This I Believe: Equal Rights, Equal Fights I believe in Equal Rights, Equal Fights. Not just as a catchy phrase, but as a principle that demands fairness, responsibility, and integrity in how we treat one another. Equality shouldn’t be selective or symbolic; it must be real, tangible, and lived. To me, equal rights means that everyone, no matter their gender, race, sexuality, or background, deserves the same freedoms, opportunities, and voice. But too often, our fight for equality stops at convenience. We want rights so we all share responsibility, unbiased justice, and parity in protection. That’s where the second part of the phrase comes in, ‘equal fights’ I don’t mean violence, but accountability. I believe in standing on equal footing, whether it’s in a courtroom, workplace, or debate. If we’re going to claim equal rights, we must also accept equal standards. Respect must flow both ways. ELEGY FOR NON

We miss his laugh, the light he gave The quiet strength, the love he made This loss is great because he gave us more Now that he’s gone, it’s less than before Our hearts now ache, the silence loud Grief lingers like a heavy shroud The tears we cry, the empty space The longing to see his face But oh, what joy he gave this place A steady hand, a loving embrace We celebrate the life he led And smile the love he spread

DEAR NON

June 11, 2025 Hello 11 year old Non, First, a big thank you! It may have already happened, or it could be happening in a short time, but in recent times, you will have faced a difficult and borderline traumatizing experience. I shall not tell you this experience as not to cause you mental harm of being unable to stop it, despite having knowledge of it. You will be quite sad, you won’t be able to make sense of anything, but know this, don’t blame yourself, otherwise you may suffer more than needed. He would not want you to suffer. Despite what he does, he still loves you. Don’t blame yourself, but also continue working towards a better future for people such as him. You will get many things from him, some nostalgic, some not, some you can use, some you can’t. Treasure them all, as they will be  some of your only connections to him. Show your appreciation for people, even if it seems hard to express it. Sincerely, A future Non
