 The Broken and the Wounded

By: Lucy

Why do we break the broken and heal the wounded? The morning of Forgive and forget. The reason to say yes to another day and be the one that shows joy to others, that doesn't kill the pain in others. The joy is worth another day. Every day someone will feel other emotions besides happiness, the majority of the time people are anxious. It's a part of being human but that doesn't mean they are hurtful to others, so why do you think you should be?

For starters forgive and forget is an important saying. Used a lot in the English language. It shows the power of forgiving others but in a respectful manner. As well as forgetting about the past and the mistakes that could happen. It's a powerful message, just like “ why do we break the broken and heal the wounded?.” The broken are strong souls and have been through a lot. It's the people at school that are having those hard days, or the ones crying in the hallway. They have endured some pain in their lives that still hurts them. Leaving them to be broken. Not always on the outside. Most of the time it's on the inside but as humans we don't always see it. So when people say mean things to others or do unkind things to people, it hurts them very deeply. Giving them mild to severe pain that most people don't even see hurts. Just making a joke or saying something wrong and not seeing the consequences of our words. Actions mean everything in the end. It affects everything and changes how everyone sees you as the person you should be for the best. In the long run the people that have the broken hearts are looking for the healer. The ones to help them through rough times, as well as some decisions they make. All people make mistakes and bad decisions, not being careful though can make people do un orthodontist things. For example like being emotionally very hurt, suicidal, unkind, angry, shy, angry all the time, and even hurting others. By the end of the day though people have to understand that the satisfaction of each day is knowing there is something there for him or her. That there is a reason to be on this earth, no matter if you think so or not, and that's something to be proud of every day. It's a satisfaction of the day to be proud.

To believe that today you have to know nobody is perfect and meanness is the absence of kindness. Those beliefs in the day affect how he or she feels and changes how you say things. For example the writer writing this believes in being kind and caring for people to forgive and forget, and some people won't forgive and  forget about moments, and that's ok. Sometimes they prefer to just have to deal with it by themselves, or break down by crying or inside. “Heal the wounded.” Sounds pretty hard now right? But healing these people is just as important, not making them feel bad or upset and showing them care. A little act of kindness can always go a long way. This is where forgive and forget comes in. This is not always easy but always important. When someone is hurt and feels bad about what they have done, it's always best to apologize for our actions. Even if the others feel they did nothing wrong, or they need to grow up. It's a sign of respect, it shows that that person is the bigger person and cares about them and others. Now that doesn't mean they will forgive what you have done but it shows them care for them and respect their boundaries. Over time they may forgive, or even possibly forget about what happened, and get closer one day, but all you have to know is it  just takes time, and nobody knows when that time will end. Before they forgive and forget, the other person has to forgive and forget for themselves. They may be thinking what the heck does this mean. When apologizing to someone, it's not a good idea to have an attitude about it. It causes aggravation, problems, more trust issues and can make the apology unexpectable. As well when she or he goes to try this it's best not to have guilt. Yes she or he may be scared to confront them or text them. But as long as forgiveness has been given to her or himself for what they have done, and will move on to the future with an open mind that it wasn't intentionally to do that and will not go past that boundary of breaking the broken, who some don't see. Then he or she will be ready to go to the person and ask them for their forgiveness or just even say I'm sorry for my actions. No matter if you are completely forgiven or not. In this sense afterwards this will help them and he or she become a better person, being kinder, more open to helping others, having guts to apologize to others, and forgive and forget making this measure up to the philosophy of “why do we break the broken and heal the wounded?” Proving that everyone can be kind and a good person in time.

This philosophy affects a good goal setting and is great for goals that want to be received by making others see that they care about being kind to each other. No matter if they forgive them or not, just the fact that they care for others feelings, and it may show them that they want to have friends and will be respectful of their boundaries. This could help with getting good scholarship help, good education, decent jobs, winning things they didn’t think they could achieve, or help people gain a good kind side to others. This helps all people make good goals by being kind to everyone. Showing a little kindness is always great to this world and it really needs it.

This also guides the friends you choose to spend time with, and interact with the people you do by being kind and forgiving and forgetting after problems or arguments or disliking conversations. It helps friends know that he or she is there for them and will respect them. Being there for them when they need someone to talk to, that doesn’t break them down. This also helps them to make more kind friends that are there for themselves and supportive. But being kind has its downs too. Just because a person is kind and always forgiving is not always the best. It sometimes, as people say, makes others look weak, or makes them look like they are an easy forgiver. Not saying one person is stronger than another but it’s always good to have bourdies. Having boundaries too though can make things difficult. Like accepting the fact that they don't have to forgive someone right away. They can forgive them in time, but it's not a sudden thing. Giving them time is always the best thing normally, and lets them think about their emotions better, and gives them time to grow.

Personal experiences at a lot of people's expense is being bullied. Being told to do all the work for others, when they were only there to help them not to do the work for them. Then sometimes being made fun of for it. Then being told they look like a “ goody goody” or “the teacher's pet”. Not helping their confidence at all, making them feel like they were only a worker in the first place. It’s also hard when the person is being pressured into doing things they don’t want to do anyways. This is also never right and never is. So as a citizen people are either told just to ignore them, or say “I'm not going to help you anymore with your homework if you're not going to put in the effort to help yourself, but I am willing to offer you help.” In a kind manner not a mean or sassy way; to give offense to the other person. Because it wasn't right in the first place for that person to do the work of another when it will end up being probably the same time they worked to get the same answers. They probably won't retain the information they were supposed to be leaning on in the first place too. So forgive them for what they were trying to make the other person do, and forget about it by giving them another chance to be kind and offer them help still.

Forgive and forget, forgive the broken and heal to forget the past. For the better, for all kindness. Life will thank you later. Providing you a kinder life style and a more welcoming person as you age.

So don't treat others ruthlessly, or in anger, and watch what he or she says before they say it because it really can mean a lot in the end. One day you may end up looking for that friend or that dream job that may never happen because of the past that wasn't figured out through the kindness of one person. One person can change the world, with one word the world can be a better place some day.
