LETTER TO MYSELF - SOFIA
Dear Sofia,
I know that seventh grade has been a very rough year for you. Depression can be a very rough thing to fall into especially whenever you are young and in school because you may believe that nobody cares about you and that you aren't good enough or smart enough in school. Everything has been weighing you down all because of just a few mean inconsiderate pricks, they were your bestest friends before they became so self centered and sometimes you might forget that now and just only see them as bad people but deep down somewhere they remember those late nights playing games and church camps that you all vowed to be friends forever. Deep in their hearts and in your heart you all still care about each other and they know they care enough just to act like they hate you.
Depression has been a tough thing to fight but you are tougher, you got through this time in your life by really sticking close to your friends that you know are good people and that you know can stay loyal even whenever others test them. These people help you so much more than you could probably ever even think, as well as people who got you through this there were also hobbies like painting, sewing, drawing, face paint, and even just making jewelry or flowers that you could give someone as a gift. Seeing everyone's faces light up when receiving something from you really motivates you to stay a bit longer and work a bit harder to make everyone happy.
This deep hole in your life really hit you like a truck but you can hit it back harder and be tougher than it is. No matter how bad it gets I want you to stay another day and even if you just have to slowly go day by day keep pushing, listen to good positive music, read books, paint, do anything that helps just don’t ever try or think about trying to end your own book, your original and creative story, and in this story you’re the author so you have to make this book the best that you possibly can.
