ELEGY FOR NAOMI
Naomi
Dead at Just fourteen
Nobody saw your signs for help
Everyone else thought you were awfully mean
Your things remained packed
Your cat won’t stop crying for you
Friends leave you an empty seat
Like they will at their weddings,
Which you will never get to see
Those dirty converse that you mother hated remain by the door
Nobody wears them anymore
People still laugh at your jokes, now from their memories
We miss you, Naomi.
