ELEGY FOR CARMALEE

 Memory

By: Carmalee Ann

No more conceptions made physical

Or laughter from which seem a bit too dark

For we are missing all but the memory of you

Now but a name on a stone no longer able to see all of which this Earth holds

My eyes but barren riverbeds

A drought after long rain

Unable to first comprehend

Till your blank eyes met mine

The room filled with similar rivers all which meet in an ocean of sorrow

Leaving behind your Ideas

The peculiar and eccentric art

The echoes of your kindness

Looking back to your chair

Not empty

But forever filled with the memory of you
