DEAR MEADOW

Dear 4th grade meadow,

       An obstacle you overcame was covid 19 and trying not to get sick. While trying to attempt school work from home. You could not see friends like you wanted to and you had to do school from home just like you were homeschooled. Also, you got to the point where you were talking to yourself. Next you only had your siblings to talk to because you couldn’t leave the house because too many people were getting sick. Also you did not want to be around your siblings because you were around them 24/7 so you just wanted to do nothing. 


You had to stay in the same house with your family. You had to learn everything by yourself because you could not leave the house so you just had to stay there/. You had to watch the news and listen on about how many people died and how many people are suffering because of it. But the only good thing about it was that you got to stay in comfortable clothing all day while attempting to do your school work.


You will never want to give up and you always want to be aware of what is happening around you because you could be the one getting sick.

I’m sure you’ve had at least one person give you a weird look, even though you don’t know who they are or who they are. They just judged you on appearance. They believe in a stereotype. Regardless of this, or how common it is, there is no such thing as a universally true stereotype. This is a simple belief, and even if people disagree, they cannot prove it wrong. It is a fact. You can say all people of [group] are [thing], but you’re wrong. If you’re right, it’s not a stereotype. And if it’s not a stereotype, it's not an issue. It is then not an opinion, which may be offensive, put simply. If I said “All adults are rude,” I’d be wrong. That’s a simple stereotype. Point out even a single outlier, and you’ve proven someone wrong in their stereotypical beliefs. One moment I can point out here that I’ve had to learn this was when I was playing an online game, and when I tried to talk to someone they said something rude.
