LETTER TO MYSELF - DEAN
LETTER TO MYSELF
By: Dean
Dear Younger Self,
I know times are tough right now, people are mean to you and you feel like giving up; so do I right now. I know you feel invisible and alone and that the whole world is against you. Some things you need to realize are that things aren’t gonna get better. You need to tough it out and try your best to get it done yourself. You are strong, even though I know you don’t think so. You have made it to where I am now. You're still depressed and unhappy with your life, but you have done it so far.
I know you don’t know what to do, but here’s some advice for you. Don’t let mom drag you down; she doesn't understand that you need space and that you're not very happy. Don’t let kids get to you or anyone for that matter. I still do, but you need to stop for us so we can heal or what they say will stick to us forever. You deserve to be happy. Even though times are tough, we have to be tougher.
I know you’re also having family problems. I know I still do now. Things still don’t get better. They are rude and insensitive and they don’t understand what we're going through. Just try and ignore them, please, they don’t deserve us. I bet once we are gone they will miss us: maybe or maybe not.
I also get it people don’t like you, they don’t like me either. If you think that what you're going through is rough, wait till you get to high school. It's way worse. The people are meaner and everything is harder. You will survive, though, you always have and always will with everything life throws at you. People may not understand you and that’s their problem. If they don’t get you, that’s on them.
The choices you are making, though, will make things tougher, so just get away from people as much as you can. Don’t let people try to drag you down; they'll just fail you’re already all the way down.
Good luck with everything and take my advice ok so we can be free.
Sincerely,
Your future self
Dean
