The Definition of a Home

Not all houses are HOMES..

Just because people live in a HOUSE doesn’t mean it’s a HOME..

A HOME is a place where you can be you.. 

A HOME is somewhere you don’t have to hide..

A HOUSE is somewhere you have to hide who you are.. 

A HOUSE is a place where you don’t feel supported.. 

There is a major difference between a HOUSE and a HOME..

A HOUSE is a place where people live together, but don’t connect.. 

They don’t support and show affection to each other.. 

Instead they yell and fight..

Point blame, make you feel bad for focusing on getting better.. 

In a HOME they show affection and support.. 

Instead of yelling and fighting, they talk things out.. 

They don’t point blame off the bat, or make you feel bad for changing.. 

They get you the help you need..

In a HOME you have life and joy..

In a HOUSE you have barriers and constant fighting..

In a HOUSE there are strangers.. 

In a HOME there is a family.. 

That’s the difference between a house and a home.

I’m sure you’ve had at least one person give you a weird look, even though you don’t know who they are or who they are. They just judged you on appearance. They believe in a stereotype. Regardless of this, or how common it is, there is no such thing as a universally true stereotype. This is a simple belief, and even if people disagree, they cannot prove it wrong. It is a fact. You can say all people of [group] are [thing], but you’re wrong. If you’re right, it’s not a stereotype. And if it’s not a stereotype, it's not an issue. It is then not an opinion, which may be offensive, put simply. If I said “All adults are rude,” I’d be wrong. That’s a simple stereotype. Point out even a single outlier, and you’ve proven someone wrong in their stereotypical beliefs. One moment I can point out here that I’ve had to learn this was when I was playing an online game, and when I tried to talk to someone they said something rude.
